Discover the TEN4CARE Horizon Europe Project!
The TEN4CARE (Tendon Engineering for Comprehensive Advanced Rehabilitation and Enhancement) Project has launched its official website! Have a look to learn more about this promising 48-month EU-funded Innovation Action under Grant Agreement No. 101178590.

TEN4CARE aims to develop innovative, minimally invasive, and personalized solutions for tendon injuries. The project focuses on creating a medical device integrating advanced shape memory biomaterials and 4D hydrogels, designed to respond to external stimuli and loaded with an anti-inflammatory drug and magnetic nanoparticles. With strong focus on recovery and rehabilitation for people suffering from tendon disorders — often linked to mobility challenges and secondary complications in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) — the project aims to significantly improve tendon repair, reduce recurrence rates and promote tissue regeneration, minimising current complications.
Tendon disorders are a frequent source of pain, reduced mobility, and compensatory motor patterns in MS, making targeted tendon rehabilitation essential for preserving function.
With €7.9M in EU funding, TEN4CARE brings together 16 multidisciplinary partners from 7 countries, uniting expertise in materials science, biomedical engineering, and clinical research to drive tangible healthcare impact.
By improving tendon healing and reducing recurrence, the technology developed in TEN4CARE has the potential to support safer and more effective rehabilitation pathways for people with MS.
RiMS is proud to contribute to this consortium through dissemination, community translation of results, and the involvement of clinicians, citizens, and people living with tendon injuries in shaping the TEN4CARE innovation.
RIMS will help ensure that the project’s results are aligned with clinical practice and grounded in the needs expressed by rehabilitation professionals across Europe.
Our involvement includes:
- Disseminating validated outcomes to the broader MS rehabilitation community
- Contributing to the development of clinical protocols aimed at MS patients with tendon-related issues
- Engaging clinicians and people affected by MS and tendon disorders in shaping project's essential features and critical factors, ensuring that the final results meet their needs and expectations.
- Ensuring findings are shared across RIMS networks, SIG groups, and communication channels
We call on the RiMS community to actively shape TEN4CARE by sharing your perspectives through upcoming surveys and consultations, and by helping to disseminate the project’s progress among your networks.
Your contribution is essential to tailor the innovation to the needs of both clinicians and patients, and to drive meaningful change in rehabilitation.
