Joint In-between SIG Mood & Cognition, and SIG Bladder, Bowel & Sexuality - MS & Pregnancy: Navigating the Reproductive Journey

A two-day meeting exploring the reproductive journey for people with MS, from family planning and pregnancy to delivery and postpartum care, bringing together clinical and research expertise with lived experiences.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Joint In-between SIG Meeting, which will take place on 12–13 March 2027 at the NeuroBRITE Research Center of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (FISM) in Genoa, Italy.

The event, entitled “MS & Pregnancy: Navigating the Reproductive Journey”, will explore the full reproductive journey for people with Multiple Sclerosis, from family planning and reproductive decision-making through pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care.

The meeting will bring together clinical and research expertise with the lived experiences of people with MS. Across several sessions, parents with MS will share their personal experiences alongside contributions from neurologists, gynecologists, neuro-obstetricians, psychologists and nurses.

Key topics will include:

  • Family planning and shared decision-making
  • Neurological monitoring during pregnancy
  • Management of MS treatments before and during pregnancy
  • Delivery and maternal-fetal care
  • Psychological and physical wellbeing after birth
  • Lived experiences of pregnancy and parenthood with MS

By bringing together different healthcare disciplines, researchers and people with MS, the meeting aims to connect scientific knowledge with lived experience and contribute to the development of better, more integrated care pathways throughout the reproductive journey.
